The Lancelin Holiday House is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, holiday apartment in a the quiet, fishing village of Lancelin.

The house is totally self contained (linen and towels are available for hire from a local supplier).

The holiday house has one queen bed in the master bedroom, 2 single beds in the second bedroom and a bed settee in the lounge, providing accommodation for up to 4 adults and a child.

The house is a 2 minute walk to a small shopping centre with Petrol stations, hairdressing salons, bakeries, Chinese restaurants, newsagents, medical centres and pharmacy. A bus stops just around the corner.

Lancelin is a small fishing town nestled between the ocean and sand dunes, an hour's drive north of Perth. The town is also the coastal link to the Pinnacles Desert.

The town is stretched along the edge of a natural bay which is protected from the Indian Ocean by outer reefs and islands.

The protected waters of the bay are ideal for swimming, fishing, boating and using small watercraft. It is also the safe anchorage for a picturesque fleet of crayfishing boats, which creates a hive of activity during the day around the two jetties.

The reefs provide the perfect environment for snorkelling, scuba diving, surfing and wave sailing. Equipment for all activities can be hired in town. There are also many shipwrecks for the experienced scuba diver to explore. Lancelin is an international Mecca for windsurfers due to the ideal wind and water conditions.

. To the east, the town is bordered by endless snow-white sand dunes, which are heaven for sand boarders, dune buggy drivers, motorbikers and four wheel drivers. The peaks of these sand dunes give a spectacular panoramic lookout over the township, surrounding sand hills, farmlands, coastline, islands and ocean. Around the point, Back Beach is safe for body-boarding, surfing and swimming, with plenty of hideaways for sunbathing.

There is an abundance of marine wildlife. Sea lions reside on Lancelin Island and regularly inspect the activities in the bay. Lancelin is also home to dolphins that frequent the bay daily and are only too willing to show off their catch of fish to spectators.

There are also huge pods of dolphins and the occasional seal outside the bay, pleasing locals and tourists alike. Birdlife and wildflowers are plentiful, with bird sanctuaries on the islands and nearby nature reserves ablaze with wildflowers during spring. Lancelin has grown with tourism and many businesses have sprung up to cater for the visitors. There are many accommodation choices, from backpacker hostels and caravan parks to motels and cottages. The town has many fine restaurants, cafes and takeaway food venues.

Lancelin Bay

The bay of Lancelin is by far it's best feature. The calm waters of this bay are beautiful and water activities dominate the town's leisure activities. A very popular town for most 'Perthites' getting away from the suburbs.

Lancelin is situated on the west coast of the Experience Perth tourist region. Lancelin faces west to the Indian Ocean and the local beaches are is protected by several small islands. Massive sandhills surround the town on a remote stretch of coastline just north of Perth

Attractions:

Pinnacles Desert
Undoubtably one of Western Australia's most unique and interesting attractions, these remarkable stone monuments are located only 4km from the beach. The stone rises out of the sandy desert like the remains of an ancient city. For great viewing, visit the area at sunrise or sunset

Windsurfing
Lancelin is the gateway to Australia's finest windsurfing and is noted on the International Windsurfing Circuit. The winds which roar through the shallow bays off the Inidan Ocean are ideal conditions for windsurfing and a day does not go by that the bay is not littered with speeding sailboards

Sandboarding

Nestled directly behind the township of Lancelin, the sand dunes are the largest in the state containing absolutely nothing but pure white sand and no vegetation. They are around 2 kilometres long and provide the perfect spot for sandboarding. A spectacular sight at sunrise or sunset

Fishing and Diving
The waters around Lancelin are teeming with fish due to the large number of reef systems along the coastline. A world renowned dive trail also litters the ocean around Lancelin. Fourteen shipwrecks along the coastline enable fantastic diving. Many species of fish and seals call the area home.
